I’ve lived in the neighborhood for 2 years but somehow never gotten a haircut here before...but I finally went and it was lovely! I called about 20 minutes ahead on a Sunday afternoon and they were able to seat me as soon as I walked in the door. Damien was my stylist and he was wonderful! He listened to my wants and made additional suggestions that resulted in a great haircut. He had a gentle hand and was very organized and methodical in his cutting, which I really liked. I have no reason to get a haircut anywhere else now, because to find a women’s haircut for under 50 that is quick (I was in and out in less than 45 mins with wash, cut, and dry) and cute is next to impossible, let alone finding one a block from my apartment! Thank you, Cut Above on 7th!
I came on a Saturday and everyone was busy except a young barber named Miguel. I gave him a try and he did a great job with my hair and was a great conversationalist. I highly recommend Miguel for a chill experience!
We moved to Brooklyn in 2017. Cut Above on 7th is a block away, and I called to make an appointment. Bruno has been cutting my hair ever since. He has the skilled barber’s sense of what looks good, and he has the mastery to trim in ways that my uneven hair lines look great. The shop has an easy-going atmosphere. I think it is the best place for a haircut.
Nika gave me the best hair color treatment. Answered all of my questions and gave me amazing advice for aftercare and product recommendations. Definitely go to her for balayage and highlights. She also does amazing haircuts, which I got from her as well. Very professional.
Alex does a fantastic job with my haircut every month. Entire staff is friendly and accommodating. You can walk in or make an appointment easily over the phone. Highly recommended!
What a great cozy hair salon. I presented for my scheduled appointment with Johnny . Was welcomed by the friendly staff. Johnny took his time to provide a full consultation and determine exactly what I wanted. Then he proceeded with a full head of highlights, that was done so beautifully. Followed by a blow and cut. All my friends and family members gave me so many compliments. I would recommend this business for the professionalism and great work provided.

Very professional hair, went in for a quick trim and bangs and was a good 55 spent. Best prices in the neighborhood and they don’t pull random prices out their mouths. You know what you’re paying for!
